Cosmetic Lotro

Oathesworn

Yesterday I’ve been playing on Bullroarer since the open Beta started. All my characters from RoI Beta were whiped so I had to level a new one in the magical Eyes & Guard Tavern. However working with an autolevelled character is quite different from working with your own. Even though my autolevelled minstrel probably has more deeds done that I could ever dream of getting done on the live server, she doesn’t have any of my beloved outfits!! Ha ha…
Anyway, I checked out the appearance of the new instance gear. I am still hoping they are placeholders, but if not that will probably be the biggest disenchantment of the first update of the Rise of Isengard expansion. However, the new Epic Book is a “must do” for all cosmetic fans!
My warden is working his way up. He is wearing a chest piece that is a barter reward from the Wardens of Annúminas in Tinnundir. The Warden chest piece, and the Captain, Guardian and Minstrel chests are the best ones from Evendim in terms of cosmetic value. So if you have some leftover Arnorian Coins and have access to the wardrobe, go ahead and purchase one of these, as all class restrictions were lifted from the wardrobe and you can put these items in your wardrobe even when they are not for your class.

If you want to know where a certain armour piece or cosmetic comes from, you can look it up in the Lorebook, by typing its name into the search box. You can equip any piece of armour cosmetically through the wardrobe, even armour that is not meant for your class or level.

Head : Isengard Prisoner Bandana, umber dye (Epic Vol.III, Book 4 reward, cosmetic)

Chest : Jacket of the Oathesworn, grey dye (barter reward from Wardens of Annúminas, warden)

Shoulders: Pauldrons of the Stoic Stag, default dye (Dunland quest reward, heavy)

Hands: Battered Dunlending Gauntlets, default dye (Dunland quest reward, heavy)

Legs: Spearman’s Singed Leather Leggings, umber dye (Dunland quest reward, medium)

Feet: Disused Shoes of the Dunland Soothsayers, default dye (Dunland quest reward, light)

Very nicely done! I liked this top but couldn’t find pants to make it work, nor could I find a way to match it with my horse, but I held onto it, hoping. Now I need to level up so I can get the isengard stuff and finally make it work. Thank you!

    • Hello Scott, I think you could also use one of the “padded leggings” from the Light Armour Smiths in Bree to combine the chest with. They only cost a few silvers. You may have to experiment with different colours and could try umber, black, grey. (Use the ctrl+click to preview before spending on dyes). You can find the Light Armour Smith in the Weapons and Armour shop in the center of Bree. For boots you could use the Barrow-scout’s Boots from GB, or the crafted version which has the same looks (Westernesse Protector’s Boots lvl45). Some shoulder guards from the Medium Armour Smith in Thorin’s Hall and some Leather Gloves from Bree or Esteldin and you’re good to go until Isengard! 🙂

Can you please comment more on that and also on new top armor “disenchantment”?

    • Hello Iren, I’ve been considering doing a preview of the cosmetic rewards for book 5, but haven’t decided yet. I think they are a rather nice surprise and I want to be a bit careful giving away spoilers.

    • Unfortunately the new raid armour has the appearances of old pre-level 50 crafted gear. Those might be place holders as the finished outfits might not be ready. We’ll have to wait for live or another beta update to find out.
